Why “Waypoint”
A waypoint is a fixed reference point that travelers use to find their way. Sailors, pilots, and hikers all navigate the same way: from one trusted point to the next until they reach their destination.
That is the heart of our name. Waypoint Church is a trusted point along the journey, a place to stop, rest, get your bearings, and be pointed in the right direction.
Everything we build should do what the needle does:
point people to Him.
Our mission
We exist to raise up Christ-centered believers who know God deeply, grow in Christlikeness, and go into the world empowered by the Holy Spirit until He comes again.
Point
Practical, relational outreach: teacher appreciation events, health seminars, feeding the homeless, and simply showing up for our neighbors.
Grow
Spirit-filled Sunday worship, verse-by-verse teaching, small house gatherings, and a weekly table at PJ’s Coffee where anyone who needs prayer can find their pastor.
Send
Disciples sent out to live and share the gospel, unafraid to tell of the goodness of God. We are the people who carry the good news to others.
Already at work
This is not a plan on paper. Waypoint’s Here to Serve team is already in Gulfport’s schools, honoring teachers with a served lunch, prayer, and presence.

Why Gulfport
Gulfport is Mississippi’s second-largest city, still rebuilding after Katrina and carrying real need. Waypoint is not being planted near Gulfport. It is being planted in it, for it.
